Detecting serum antibodies (IgM and IgG) to Borrelia Burgdorferi as well as the presence of Babesia and Anaplasma species in whole blood specimens.

This laboratory is certified under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) as qualified to perform high complexity clinical laboratory testing. These tests are used for clinical purposes. They should not be regarded as investigational or for research.

Minimum Volume
Collecting minimum volumes can result in a need for sample recollection, and/or a delay in results. Minimum volumes are subjective and cannot account for all aspects of specimen and testing needs. Refer to the Preferred Volume section for optimal volumes for laboratory specimens.
Serum: 0.5 mL (Serum Separator Tube (SST))
Whole Blood: 0.5 mL (Lavender Top Tube (EDTA))
Specimen Collection and Handling
1. Draw blood in either a Red Top Tube or Serum Separator Tube.
2. Spin down and remove from clot and send 1.0 mL serum refrigerated.
3. Draw 1 lavender top (EDTA) and send whole blood specimen.
