Serum: 0.5 mL (Serum Separator Tube (SST))
Whole Blood: 0.5 mL (Lavender Top Tube (EDTA))
Specimen Collection and Handling
1. Draw blood in either a Red Top Tube or Serum Separator Tube.
2. Spin down and remove from clot and send 1.0 mL serum refrigerated.
3. Draw 1 lavender top (EDTA) and send whole blood specimen.
