Therapeutic ranges:
Trough: Less than or equal to 2.0 ug/mL
Peak: 5-10 ug/mL
Cystic Fibrosis Treatment: 15-30 ug/mL
Trough concentrations greater than 2.0 ug/mL and peak concentrations
greater than 25.0 (30.0 for cystic fibrosis treatment) ug/mL are considered to be potentially toxic.

Specimen Collection and Handling
1. Spin specimen, separate from clot and send frozen.
2. Specimens containing additional antibiotics should be stored frozen if any delay in analysis or more than 4 hours in transport time is anticipated.
Failure to freeze specimen containing additional antibiotics may result in falsely low Tobramycin levels due to in vitro inactivation.
