Screening of the following drugs/drug classes: amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine metabolite, fentanyl, methadone, methadone metabolite, MDMA (Ecstasy), opiates, oxycodone, phencyclidine (PCP), propoxyphene, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)
Method Name
Cloned Enzyme Donor Immunoassay (CEDIA)
Enzyme Immunoassay (EIA)
Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) (If indicated)
Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry (LC-MC/MS) (If indicated)
Reference Values
Reference values for Toxicology Profile + Buprenorphine
Toxicology Profile: Not Detected
Screening Cutoff Concentration:
Amphetamines: 500 ng/mL
Barbiturates: 200 ng/mL
Benzodiazepines: 200 ng/mL
Buprenorphine: Not Detected
Cocaine (benzoylecgonine – cocaine metabolite): 300 ng/mL
Fentanyl: 1 ng/mL
Methadone: 300 ng/mL
Methadone metabolite: 1000 ng/mL
MDMA: 500 ng/mL
Opiates: 300 ng/mL
Oxycodone: 100 ng/mL
Phencyclidine: 25 ng/mL
Propoxyphene: 300 ng/mL
Tetrahydrocannabinol carboxylic acid: 50 ng/mL
The presence of buprenorphine at 5 ng/mL or norbuprenorphine at 5 ng/mL is a strong indicator that the patient has used buprenorphine.

Clinical Significance
Positive test results are confirmed and/or quantitated at an additional charge.
This panel also screens for the presence of buprenorphine (an opiate) in urine by EIA at a cutoff concentration of 5ng/mL.
ALL buprenorphine results will be confirmed and quantitated (positive or negative screen) if detectable by LC-MS/MS at an additional charge.
Specific gravity, pH, creatinine and oxidants will be performed and reported at no additional charge to identify potential adulteration of the urine specimen.
This test is intended for clinical monitoring and management of patients. It is not intended for non-medical use such as employment or forensic testing.
Maximum Laboratory Time
