Useful For

Synovasure Alpha Defensin is a Lab Developed Test (LDT) that uses synovial fluid for the diagnosis of joint infection. 

The Synovasure Alpha Defensin PJI Test includes 2 measurements: (1) an immunoassay measurement of synovial fluid alpha defensin levels, and (2) an immunoassay measurement of synovial fluid CRP.

Analytic time for send out tests is the time it will take to perform testing once it has arrived at the performing reference lab. Please add 1 to 2 days from time of collection to allow for receipt at NorDx central lab and shipment of specimen, add another day if specimen is collected on the day before a weekend or holiday.

Aspirate from an infected joint placed in a Red Top Tube or sterile screw top container.

This testing requires the CD Diagnostics Synovasure Testing Requisition to be completed and submitted with the sample.
