Test Code RSV Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) Antigen - Nasopharyngeal Only

Important Note

On November 12, 2024, this test is longer offered in lieu of PCR testing exclusively.

Please see RSVP for inpatients who require a rapid result and RSVNA for all others.

This page will be deactivated on December 12, 2024.

Please note: RSV antigen tests are designed for children younger than 5 years old.

Older children and adults often have much lower viral loads resulting in significant decrease in antigen test sensitivity.  Please see RSV by PCR for these patient populations.

For more information, see the CDC link here.
