Specimen Collection and Handling

24 HOUR URINE (preferred):

1. No preservative

2. Prior to aliquoting specimen, mix specimen well, measure and record volume.

3. Aliquot sample and send refrigerated.

4. 24-HOUR VOLUME IS REQUIRED ON REQUEST FORM FOR PROCESSING. If collecting in Epic, entering urine volume is a hard stop and must be completed to continue collection.
