Specimen Collection and Handling

1. Draw blood in a gray top (sodium fluoride/potassium oxalate) tube. DO NOT USE A TOURNIQUET DURING COLLECTION.

2. Place whole blood on ice, spin down and separate plasma from cells within 15 minutes of draw and refrigerate immediately.

3. Send 1.0 mL of sodium fluoride/potassium oxalate plasma refrigerated.
