Important Note

Please note: Room temperature, refrigerated and frozen stability information refers to plasma that has been separated from cells. 

Precautions must be taken to retard glycolysis by keeping the whole blood on ice immediately after collection, and then separating the plasma from the cells within 15 minutes.

Specimen Collection and Handling

1. Draw blood in a grey top (sodium fluoride/potassium oxalate) tube. DO NOT USE A TOURNIQUET DURING COLLECTION.

2. Place whole blood on ice, spin down and separate plasma from cells within 15 minutes of draw and refrigerate immediately.

3. Send 1.0 mL of sodium fluoride/potassium oxalate plasma refrigerated.
