Specimen Collection and Handling
1. Draw a fasting specimen.
2. Label with required patient identification and collection information, and include “fasting” on the label.
3. After 100g Glucola has been administered draw a specimen at the 1 hour, 2 hour and 3 hour time intervals.
4. Label each tube with required patient identification and collection information, and include the appropriate collection interval on the label.
5. Glucose Tolerance Tests are drawn at NorDx Patient Service Centers Monday through Friday only.
To Process:
Spin specimen, separate from clot within 2 hours of collection and send refrigerated.
