Detecting polysaccharide antigens associated with Cryptococcus neoformans infection. A backup fungal culture is included for precise identification (C. neoformans or. C. gattii) and potential susceptibility testing. Backup cultures of follow-up specimens used for trending the antigen titer are NOT required. In these cases, the fungal culture can be deselected on the panel.
