Specimen Collection and Handling

1. Aseptically collect 1.0-5.0 mL bone marrow in a green-top (sodium heparin) tube(s).

2. Label tube(s) with patient’s name (first and last), date of birth or medical record number, date and time of collection, collector’s initials and SPECIMEN SOURCE.

3. Maintain sterility and forward promptly at ambient temperature only.

4. SPECIMEN SOURCE IS REQUIRED ON REQUEST FORM FOR PROCESSING.
