Useful For
Identifying and isolating Acid Fast Bacilli
Positive cultures reflex to organism identification.
M. tuberculosis complex and M. avium complex will reflex to antibiotic susceptibility tests, unless previously performed in the last three months.
For other acid fast bacilli species, antibiotic susceptibility testing available upon request
Additional charges may apply.
Method Name
Conventional Rapid Culture
Reference Values
No acid fast bacilli isolated.
If positive, mycobacterium will be identified.
