Specimen Collection and Handling
1. Collect into iced plastic lavender top (EDTA) tube noting time of collection.
2. After venipuncture, immediately immerse the tubes in an ice bath.
3. Separate plasma from cells by centrifugation.
4. Separate plasma into a plastic transport tube and freeze immediately.
